Meet Sophie Rado, a multi-skilled teacher, passionate about yoga, movement, and holistic healing.

 

Originally from the UK, she now calls New Zealand home, where she resides with her comedian husband, Nick Rado, and their two lovely children, accompanied by their fluffy companion, Ted.

Sophie's journey commenced with a degree in professional dance and musical theatre, taking her worldwide to perform in world-class musical shows. This early exposure to the arts laid the foundation for her profound understanding of the mind-body connection, ultimately leading her to the world of yoga.

As a highly qualified yoga teacher with over 15 years of experience, Sophie brings unparalleled expertise to her classes. She obtained her Yoga diploma from Wellpark College of Natural Therapies NZ in 2008, under the tutelage of esteemed teachers Dr Pooja and Dr Shrida. Her dedication to her students' well-being is evident in her recent completion of advanced training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga (150 hrs Raw Well-being), emphasizing her commitment to providing a safe and nurturing space for all.

Sophie's pursuit of knowledge and growth is evident in her diverse array of certifications and training:

  • Diploma in Psychology of Stress Management (2008)

  • Master Reiki Practitioner, Third-degree master training with Rainbow Heart Reiki 

  • Certified Barre training & Pilates Mat with Xtend Barre (2013) Refresher training with The Method NZ (2021 & 2023)

  • First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® Flowers of Transformation

  • Sound Massage, Peter Hess Level 1 (2021)

  • Thai Yoga Massage beginners training (2023)

  • NZ certificate in floristry

But Sophie's quest for learning continues beyond there. She is currently furthering her education with 300-hour Trauma-Informed Yoga teacher training. She is pursuing her diploma in First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand®, all while preparing for her upcoming fourth-degree Reiki Masters training at the end of 2024.

 

Sophie's skills and dedication have garnered recognition, earning her the title of Yoga brand ambassador for Lululemon Britomart 2013-2015.

She has been featured in prestigious media campaigns, including Wanderlust NZ & Australia, Women's Day, NZ Fashion Week, The Beauty Book, NZ Herald, Stuff, and Denizen Magazine. As well as teaching for Dr Libby Weaver's day retreat.

Her teaching experience spans a broad spectrum of students, from beginners to advanced practitioners, including prominent figures such as television stars and All-Black rugby players.

Testimonials from her students speak volumes about Sophie's instruction, leaving them feeling nourished and uplifted. One student, Fleur Pearce, aptly expressed, "Nourished and like I'm walking on air."
